We picked up six chicks a week or so ago, three each barred rocks and “ameraucana” (likely regular Easter eggers since they were like four bucks each from a local feed store). Apart from a couple pasty butts early on they are doing very well. We handle each bird a couple times a day for short periods and it’s amazing how quickly personalities come out. We named most of them for aunts of mine, but my wife and my granddaughter each named one as well. Two seem particularly fond of being held, “Patricia” and this one,
named after my aunt Loretta. It is cool to see how much they grow in a week, with feathered wings and the beginnings of tail feathers as well. Anyway, I thought I’d share a pic of Ms Loretta. The matching outfits were pure coincidence.
