Meet my girls!

Twiggy has now spent two nights with her mate outside in the coop. Can't yet hop up into the roost so I've made a ladder which I'll need to teach her how to use with her gammy foot. A contented little bird tho (if the little clucks are anything to go by!) and continuing to get stronger and more active each day. Was delighted to find an egg this morning,
the first since her accident, and this time, laid in the nest box!

Six weeks on now:Thought you'd like to hear that Twiggy started to weightbear fully on her weaker leg this week and can now open her claws out properly to stand upright. Remains a little pigeon-toed and lopes when she runs but able to do all she needs to do including scratching the dirt and foraging. Amazing recovery from the clawed, bent legs she had on rescue. The lovely bonus from all the intensive TLC is that my previously flighty little bird is now much more relaxed around people and even seeks out close contact on occasions.

So a big thanks for your encouragement and the wisdoms I've gained about chicken care as I've browsed your discussions on this site!
