Nice of you to break them in slowly, it is best that way. I had to introduce a new EE last year to my flock. Took a few weeks, but she's just part of the gang now.

That's a really awesome concept.

When I introduced ours, I brought them onto the floor and let them mingle and do their thing. I never thought of giving 'em food before while meeting! Great idea!

I did that, I got 6 week old pullets and fed scratch to them and my hens on either side of the wire every day until they were old enough to be introduced. I figure it's a kind of positive re-inforcement. Chicken brain: Treats are nice + new faces come with treats = new faces are nice!
