Merrik 's Disease

It is an awful disease. Now her depth perception is off. We figure she is partially blind in one eye. She can hardly eat because of it. We are now not sure if we should euthinise her or give her a chance to fight it. But if she can hardly peck food that is a problem right? How do we get food down her if she can't eat due to lack of depth perception?

Her sight is only getting worse. I hat to say it, but we may euthinise her tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that. It is never an easy decision to make, but it will be the right one for her, I am sure.

I lost my little pullet that was struggling with it, last night. On the other hand, the little cockerel is running around with the flock again and no sign at all that he has been ill. It's typical that the pullets haven't made it and the cockerel which is to cull eventually anyway, has recovered!
