:goodpost:    A very interesting thread.   Kudos.    I'm going to keep an eye on this.   I haven't bought any Methionine yet, but see the necessity of it.  


Linda, I don't recall if you're mixing any of your own feed or not. If you are, you might look into Fertrell Nutribalancer. It is a premix of kelp, minerals, salt, methionine, vitamins and probiotics. It's designed to round out the nutrition for mixing your own poultry feeds. Many commercial feed makers use this in their feeds. If you have an Azure drop near you, you can order 10 lbs of it, good to supplement 333 pounds of grain/seed.

I'm using it to supplement the corn and wheat I am adding to my commercial feed. I'm also adding Menhaden fish meal, but am not counting that as the part of the supplementation weight, because fish meal already contains plenty of methionine.
