Picked up my order first thing Wednesday morning, due to unpredicted circumstances they had to sit there over night. A day and half in the box led to 8/20 DOA’s :( But here we are, with 12 little ones to care for and all but one seems to be doing splendidly. My order contained 6 black jersey giants, 2 female light brahmas, 10 “adopt me” bargain chicks, and the meal maker and homestead helper roo. Now that I’m down the 8 I would like to know what I lost and what I have. The light brahmas are obvious and both are alive and well.

Here’s the chicks, I think I know what some are but what some opinions.
1. Dark brahma? Has feathered feet.

2 and 3, about the same but different shades. Both are notably smaller than the others so guessing bantam?

4. There are 5 black ones so assuming they are the Jersey giants. One was DOA

5. Rhode island red?

6. Not sure, maybe a blue copper maran? It is highly spirited.

After loosing the 8 I went and bought 8 more chicks from the feed store as replacements. 1 Buff and 1 dark brahmas is what I wanted and hopefully what I grabbed. Supposed to be all female too. Did I get one of each?

Also got 2 Americanas EE’s. Do both have the muffs to indicate they are the right mix of mutts?

1 probably an olive egger

2, 3 Meyes has all kinds of different Easter egger types, and I think these must be one of them. They don't look like purebreds to me.

4 looks right for a Jersey Giant

5 maybe a Golden Buff, which is a type of red sex link. Not too sure, though, as its coloring is unusual.

6 Could be a blue copper Marans or olive egger of some kind

Those do look like Brahma chicks you got from the store. In the picture with both of them, the one on the left is the dark Brahma and the one on the right is the buff Brahma.

The last two are Easter egger, and they do have beards and muffs.

both the EE mixes look to have muffs :)

The little guys are doing well, had one more Jersey giant die on me but it was acting unwell so I'm not too surprised. I've scoured the internet to figure out what chick 5 and 6 are. Still unsure of what #5 is but #6 is looking more and more like a blue cuckoo maran. Time will tell, I'll be posting more photos as they grow and maybe then I'll be able to get a better idea of what some are.

Currently dealing with a touch of pasty butt on a couple, had to clean up both the light brahma chicks as well as chicks 2 and 3. It wasn't terrible but I've noticed it again on chick 2. They have a brooder plate on one side of the ~4ft brooder so it's not like they can't get away from the heat. Maybe I'll raise the plate up a little.

I have had enough trouble with Meyers Jersey giants that I order them elsewhere I love Meyers, but I've had Jerseys in 3 separate orders where they are the only ones to die, including a bantam order. I ordered some from Cackle with no issues and Ideal..

Chicks are doing well and have proper feathers now. Might be able to get better guesses.
1. Pretty sure it is a EE now, looks female thus far

2+3. No pics but assuming bantam EEs. I kept the yellow one and it is looking like a hen with a pea comb. Gave the other to a friend but will probably get photos of it soon.
5. Still guessing rhode island red, also guessing roo based on comb size?

6. Still thinking blue maran. Blue Cuckoo? 95% Sure it's a roo. It has white primary wing feathers that are hidden.
