Picked up my order first thing Wednesday morning, due to unpredicted circumstances they had to sit there over night. A day and half in the box led to 8/20 DOA’s
But here we are, with 12 little ones to care for and all but one seems to be doing splendidly. My order contained 6 black jersey giants, 2 female light brahmas, 10 “adopt me” bargain chicks, and the meal maker and homestead helper roo. Now that I’m down the 8 I would like to know what I lost and what I have. The light brahmas are obvious and both are alive and well.
Here’s the chicks, I think I know what some are but what some opinions.
1. Dark brahma? Has feathered feet.
2 and 3, about the same but different shades. Both are notably smaller than the others so guessing bantam?
4. There are 5 black ones so assuming they are the Jersey giants. One was DOA
5. Rhode island red?
6. Not sure, maybe a blue copper maran? It is highly spirited.
After loosing the 8 I went and bought 8 more chicks from the feed store as replacements. 1 Buff and 1 dark brahmas is what I wanted and hopefully what I grabbed. Supposed to be all female too. Did I get one of each?
Also got 2 Americanas EE’s. Do both have the muffs to indicate they are the right mix of mutts?
