( Meyer Hatchery ) 16 Week Old Cockerel - What Breed?

I think I have one of Blueberry's siblings?! :)

He looks very much like my barely-any-visible-copper-coloring, 14 week old Blue Copper Marans, also from Meyer Hatchery.

Photo is from a month ago, but now mine also has red comb & wattles like your Blueberry. Maybe my favorite pullet is actually a roo?!
It may be male.

@cluckingheck @TheOddOneOut thank you for the info & photos

I don't know for sure if there are pointy feathers? There are some that are very narrow and pointy, not the same shape as the feathers on rest of body.

I am a chicken newbie, so your insights are helpful!

Tomorrow I will take photos to post of my 4 Meyer Hatchery "pullets" - 3 of whom have big red combs & wattles. (I ordered 5 female chicks - each a diff type of Marans. One died on 3rd day. Of remaining 4 chickens, only 1 has small comb/wattles like your pullet Bluey's.)

Thank you. As usual, I learn something every time I'm on BYC!

Came from Meyer Hatchery as a bin chick, so it was kind of a mixed bag. I had another thread that originally started as a gender one but evolved into figuring out what Blueberry’s breed was. I’m just wanting to put this in its own thread to get more opinions.
I think he could still be a blue copper Marans. Some birds do not develop the copper coloring until later. Also in some hatchery birds, they do not have much copper coloring. Many pullets can be all blue with no copper coloring at all.😊

Maybe a bluebell?
Do you get that breed over there?
Incredibly popular over here in Britain.

Blue Cuckoo Marans. I have them.

This is what I think too. Even if it doesn't develop color, I assume this is what he's *meant* to be!

Here's my Blue Cuckoo. Females have lacing instead of barring but she has tiny barred feathers on her outside legs. Yours looks older but oh so beautiful ❤️
You're totally right that blue birds are laced but I'm honestly not sure she's barred at all. I would expect a blue cuckoo to have visible barring, especially on the neck! I think there's a good chance she's blue too! Very pretty 😍

I do have a blue cuckoo maran as well as a blue copper maran female. I’ll try to get pictures of both of them. I don’t think that’s what Blueberry is. Come to think of it, when do Blue copper marans get their copper? Is it possible he is that but just doesn’t have the copper in yet?
