Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Everyone together. My eggs, which I've shared before. Every single female lays a uniquely colored egg, even the silkies, so I can always tell them apart.
You have a nice variety of hens. I'm jealous of those beautiful colored eggs!

I got my chicks today! The girls are doing great! Couldn't take to many pics but here are a few (sorry bad pics from my phone but all I have right now)

So cute!!

Post office tracking says chickies should arrive this afternoon!!!

Going to run to the store and get paper towels and the new Frozen movie (to entertain my daughters), return library books and then stay home and wait for the chickies!
I have to work tonight.. so I won't be posting pics till tomorrow, but I will try to update.

Jeremy- your blue Americauna makes me regret not ordering one, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $20 for a chick.... but it is SO pretty!

Here's a few pictures of the Broilers I ordered from them last fall.

They arrived in perfect health, no DOAs, and after all was said and done, I only lost a couple out of the whole batch of 52. My second order from Meyer will be arriving tomorrow, so I'll share pics of them when they get here.

This time I got 4 Barred Rocks, 2 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, 2 Colombian Wyandottes, 1 Black Laced Silver Polish, 1 Blue Crested Polish and 25 of the "Fry Pan Special" (these are just leftover roosters from various heavy weight breeds).

It's fun but frustrating when you get a bad hatch rate. My tweaks to my incubator seem to be helping as the temp has only fluctuated .4 deg in over 24hr. It was nothing close to that before sometimes jumping more than a degree in a couple hours. Hoping for a good hatch rate this time! I might hatch more later this summer but for now this will be my last batch. Too many chicks to find homes for! lol
Sounds so detailed. I'd have a problem with finding new homes for extras, if I started now. Plus I am too new to all this chicken stuff. I guess I need to search local people who want or have chickens. I want to also search local places that have hatching eggs as well. I may try Meyers shipped too, but am kind of unsure if I should, but I won't hatch for at least a couple years, unless I can find someone to take the extras off my hands now or unless my husband and I finally get over the fear and process a few for dinner.

Can't wait to see pics of the new chicks. I've been working (I'm a nurse and work nights) so today starts my 7 off so I'll get more pics of the growing girls up soon. My girls are still great in the garage brooder. They will stay there till late April early May. Then outside to the big summer coop and run. My older girls are in the insulated winter coop now. We hope by the end of the summer we can integrate the two coops and runs so they are all together. Gonna attach the summer coop to the winter coop and enclose it more. So I'll have a few projects this summer. Gonna be fun!!!
Look forward to the pictures of the girls and your new projects! Always looking for new ideas myself. I wish it would stop raining so I can finish the coop and run. They need a ladder for their roosts, a ladder for their outside porch in the run and something at both the human door and chicken door to stop their litter from falling out. Plus roosts in the run. I think I will always be doing something, seems like these projects never end.

How big will your coops and runs end up being once you're done?

Adorable!!!

I realized that I don't think I've ever posted pics of my Meyer Hatchery chickens on here…despite posting on this thread often! I'm such a slacker! Here are my females, all from Meyer, hatched July 2013. These pics are a bit old, they've filled out quite a bit since these were taken.

The two pics are of my Blue Ameraucana. She's my prettiest girl, in my opinion.

This is my easter egger. I'm the only person I've seen who got a SOLID cream easter egger from Meyer Hatchery. I'm sometimes jealous of other people's more elaborately colored EEs, but she lays beautiful light green eggs.

Your chickens and eggs are beautiful. You really picked the right breeds to have a variety of hens and eggs. I hope to one day have a Blue Ameraucana and white EE. So jealous!! Not sure if I would ever get silkies, but seeing them on BYC so much makes me like them a little more each day.

Did you process them yourself or take them some where?

That is a nice variety you are getting, much more colorful then the boilers. I'd be interested to see what you end up with for the fry pan special. That would be way to many roosters for us since we do not have any now nor do we want any.

I look forward to any pictures that you share.

We are lucky there are a couple chicken swaps in our area. We go to the closest one the first saturday of the month. Hoping to sell most of them at the next one. The last one it was 18* and blowing snow like crazy so we only sold 2. I only stayed 15 min because I didn't want to run my battery down running the heating pad I had for the chicks and then the snow started blowing so bad it was piling up in the back of my car!

Ditto on the rest of Lynn's comments!

Yeah! So cute! Looks like you've got the breeds correct to me.

Picked up my chicks a few hours ago. All 23 appear well and are active!
