Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Pics
Nice rooster pics. I have one more week remaining to wait. I ordered in October, so I've been waiting quite awhile. It does help distracting myself with reading and learning more and more about chickens. I think the coop is done now and the brooder is ready. I talked to the post office today and gave my number to call me as soon as they come in.

I have chick starter feed, nipple water system ready, I think I am ready, I hope so anyway.

I'll be sure to post picks of the little ones to add to this forum. The waiting is terrible!

Hatch date is February 11th! Ship date Feb 12th to 14th!

I'm no expert, but I was told that electrolites are really important in their water for the first few days where they haven't had anything through shipment. I picked 3 packets up at TSC for about $2.50

That is a good idea. It is also great to have on hand for the summer months. I mix a gallon jug up and give it to the feathered critters and the dogs......glad you reminded me, I need to get some more before the babies get here.

Thanks for the advice. I think I am getting some electrolytes from Meyer's, hopefully they come with good instructions on how to use them. I plan on using acv in there water as well.

Does anyone know when it comes to receiving the chicks, when they give you a time span of Tuesday thru Thursday, which day typically do the chicks arrive? Maybe it depends on location?

Think I am getting nervous....

Aww thanks. That's kitty. She was born in our barn by a feral cat, but she's so curious and sweet natured that she just makes friends with everybody.

Love seeing everybody's Meyer chickens! I have an order for the last week in March for bantam mottled chochins and mille fleur D'uccles. I found someone sort of locally that I am probably going to be getting some Mille chicks from the first week in March, though, so at least I don't have to wait quite so long for chicks. It's still too long, though!

adorable! The kitten is so cute and it is amazing she/he gets along with all your animals. I love the earlier pics of the Meyer birds, they are all so beautiful!

Here's a few pics of my 8 week old Meyer chicks. They are going out to the big girls house tomorrow ...

These are left to right ... Professor River Song the Buff Brahma, Hazel the Bearded Easter Egger, Pebbles the Barred Rock, and Pearl the White Jersey giant. In the back is Moneypenny the Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and Amy Pond the Buff Orpington.

Below are some of the same girls. (At least I HOPE they are all girls! No red combs or wattles yet at least.)

Here is a better pic of Hazel the Barred Rock.

Moneypenny the BLRW and next to her is Koko the Black Australorp.

I think they are all beautiful and most definitely healthy. Not a runt in the bunch. Getting 3 more in April from Meyer. (Welsummer, White Sultan are ordered. Adding either a Barnevelder, Golden Buff or Columbian Wyandotte to the order as soon as eeny meeny miney mo comes up with which one.)
