Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

They are the whole reason I placed an order for more chicks. I got a silver and gold one and I'm trying to add a buff and blue to my 9/30 order. The pair I got seemed to be little bully's the first few days but they have seemed to calm down. Does your next shipment ship this mon or next?

They ship this month. Aug 19. I believe.

I've always wanted Polish chickens. But I've been put at my limit for chickens. We are going to the fair September 13th, and I can't wait to see all of the chickens. :D That always makes me feel better about not being able to have any more.

I think I would be worse going to the fair :) I have no self control. Sounds like a fun time though.

Check Monday morning. There is usually some extras, you could prob add a polish or 2

My husband asked me if I wanted to go to a fair a month or so ago to see the animals and I was like that's like taking a alcoholic to a liquor store. He was like on second thought why don't I just take you out to dinner and shopping cause we can't fit a goat or a horse or god knows what your gonna want in our yard.

Gosh I've gotten behind! Had like 20 pages to read, lol!

I loved the double yokers!

Pip, your partridge rock is sooo beautiful!

Loving all the new baby chicks and I'm sorry for the people who have had losses!

My 6 girls are going to be 12 weeks on Monday! Pretty sure they're all girls, since none are seems to be showing major signs of being a roo... They sure have been swapping out the feathers though, my 6 year old has quite a stash in his chicken feather collection he started.

Try dying their vents with different colored food coloring : )

Does that really work? I'd love to know . I have 8 laying outta 13 as of today - we found one hen laying DOA under the coop in the shade tonight when we went out to make sure they were all in for the night ..

Your son should come over here, he'd be in heaven! I have plenty of chicken & parrot feathers for him!

BarredRockGirls- I'm sorry about your loss

Someone else along with me got frizzed chicks this hatch, right?

Can you tell what you got yet. Looks to me like I have 1 frizzle out of 3. Also I know it's hard to know this early but I think 2 of them are Roos too. They go toe to toe and try to be bigger and peck at each other.

I got the frizzle. I've been checking him everyday but I still can't tell. I thought he was a male cause I saw a comb but pipdz told me straight comb chicks will have sm combs when they are born. I have 2 other straight comb birds in the order and they also have combs and I ordered females for the other 2. I'm hoping for a male cause my husband and I want to breed him with our polish. My frizzle is also extremely smaller than the others, even the 2 silkies so he spends a good bit of time trying to avoid getting ran over. Are yours really small too?

Our almost 2 week old Meyer chicks love to dust bathe. This container was too small...

Got one a little bigger, still too small....

Much better...plus deeper so they stop throwing all the sand out

We put a roost in their box and it did not take them long to jump up on it.

They also jump on the waterer and now jump to the edge of the box, so we're working on getting a separation area ready for them inside the coop. we'll probably move them outside next weekend. We'll miss having them inside though, they are so much fun and friendly.

Here's one of the CM and the brown EE

Buffy, the Buff Laced Polish, her hairdo is starting to come in.

So we've figured out what all but two of the chicks are now. Our little brown one has such a small comb and we still can't tell if it is a single or pea comb. So she still could be a Partridge Rock, like some of you have guessed or another EE. Our Splash one is such a friendly chick, but we'll find out once she gets big what type she is. so far they all look like girls too, we have the two CM's that looked so different last week, but now look the same.

I am concerned about my RIR, Ash, she stopped laying eggs for a few days now, there was a shelless one yesterday that may have been hers.

I think my BR, Pepper has not laid yet either.

BarredRockGirls: So sorry to hear about your lost one. How old are your chickens now? I think I need to just give Pepper a little more time, even though she is squatting and looking ready. Oreo, the other BR has been laying almost everyday.
