Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

The little Buff died and all of a sudden another Buff is looking horrible and a Leghorn too! We'll see.  Do they send replacements s if more die?

Wow, I really should read all the posts before I respond to any! I am so sorry that your little buff died and the others aren't looking so hot! I hope they pull through! :fl

Should I, or shouldn't I?  I have a 10x16 coop and a 20X30 run (which they still haven't used!).  I already have 26 chicks that are 3 months and 2 months

I have an order sitting to submit to Meyer for 8 more.  I wanted to add a couple of white layers and a couple of olive eggers.

Am I just being impulsive?

Oy!

Time flies. I cannot believe your little ones are 2 months old already! I think you would be ok on space for 34. Would you be able to separate the new little ones from the others until they are big enough to hold their own against the big girls? Are you planning on selling the eggs? If so, I'd go for it. Mine younger ones are 20 weeks old and I already want more. If I had the space I would be placing an order right now. But, unfortunately, I would have to get a second coop, so I will be waiting until spring! Good luck with whatever you decide!

I can't believe it either! I have a box in the coop that would keep them separated after their quarantine time in the house. It worked wonderfully for the littles when I integrated them in to the coop. I already have customers lined up for the eggs. And I'll be donating some as well. If I did this it would be the last ones unless I ended up needing replacements for some reason.

These are what I'm thinking of (if I don't sit too long and they are sold out!)
2 olive eggers
1 lavender orpington
2 exchequer leghorn
2 german spitzhauben (appenzeller)

Hey everyone!

I am sorry about your little chicks passing Nancy.. it is so tough to wait this long and with the anticipation and then to have that happen. I am sure Meyer will get it right for you, even if it means waiting on the breed you want a little longer.

I wanted to pass a bit of useful info on to all of you. When quoting someone to replay to them when they have a lot of pictures, you can right click on the picture and a grid box will appear with little triangle points along the outline of the picture. If you click on one of those points, you can shrink the picture so that the poster can still see their picture, but for the rest of us, we won't be scrolling though pages and pages of photos that we have all ready seen. For an example, I quoted myself and shrunk the picture so as you can all see how easier it is to keep it trim, and not blow up pages and pages with the same photo graphs. You can also only use one photo graph as not to see all the same ones. Just a little tip to make life easier.

Only 7 days till my new group of 3 comes! Yippie!

I love your Avatar. Adorable chick! I just saw that you are from Cornwall. I spent a semester at Exeter University and visited Cornwall a couple of times. I love that area!! I don't imagine that you had Meyer Hatchery chicks delivered there. What brought you to our thread?

Interesting tip! Any secrets to the mobile version? I never actually sit at a computer anymore.
