Meyer hatchery reviews???

Pics
If you ordered from their website it should have given you the option to vaccinate them. Did you say No and now change your mind? I would still try to call them! If there's any chance for them to they likely will. They have been a good company to work with.

When we tried to call the hatchery they were closed. Shortly after we go a email say your chicks have been shipped

Its ok. You can buy the vaccines online and give them to the chicks yourself. It only requires a small injection under the skin.

The link I posted is a vial for $20 that is enough for 1,000 chickens.

Meyer is a good company and I bet you'll be impressed with the chicks you get.

I can't speak to their shipping, as I pick my chickens up at their hatchery, but I've had a great experience.

Good luck and don't sweat it!

I got fifteen chicks in the mail yesterday. One of them were very loopy looking. This morning we found it dead. It was a 10 dollar chick and they had not sent any extras. If I call them what will they do? They can't just sent one little lonely chick can they. Would they send more then one? Any replies are appreciated.

Aww poor baby :( email them with a picture, they should credit your account, so if you want to order later in the season or next year you'll have that $10 to use. Hast happened to me but have heard it from folks on the Meyer Picture thread.

First of all, I'm not trying to be rude about this. I'm just curious. Like many here, I'm new to raising a backyard flock.

Anyways, I am fortunate enough to live less than 2 hours from Meyer, so I drove down to get my 8 hens.

Knock on wood, all have been happy, healthy, and thoroughly spoiled for the first 2-2.5 weeks of their lives.

I see a lot of people on here bashing different hatcheries, including Meyer, saying their birds arrived sick or "not right" (also complaining about the cost, as if a $10 bird should be tougher than a $1 broiler?)

Anyways, from you more experienced folks out there.. do hatcheries really refund people's money or send them new birds when some arrive "not right?"

I feel like you take a chance, especially when having a living animal mailed to your house, on them becoming sick or injured along the way.

I feel like Meyer was a great company to get birds through and was very accommodating.. but I don't think I'd ever expect them to refund my money should one of my chicks become sick or injured in its early stages of life?
