Meyer Hatchery

the chicks can take 3 or 4 days in shipping,
don't be concerned about the tracking. an airplane can fly across the US in just a few hours.
don't try to make rhyme or reason on how the airlines route their planes..
the chicks should arrive just fine.

If any are dead, just call the hatchery right away and they will make adjustments.

That's very strange, because Meyer's Hatchery is in Ohio. It was part of the reason I chose them, because they're the closest to us here in New England. My Pet Chicken is in Ct, but they ship from other hatcheries, like Meyer.
I ordered from MPC. Order was for 3 GLW, 3 Partridge Rocks, and 1 Silver penciled Rock...all supposed to be female...I recieved the Silver Penciled, 3 GLW one which is a male and 3 SLW one which is male No partridge rocks. Not ordering from them again

its probably not MPC fault. They send their orders out to whatever hatchery has what you want at that time. They're almost like ordering from a third party on amazon. The only things I think that are coming from not hatchery are some of the eggs.

I have heard mixed reviews from people but the chicks I did get prior are beautiful, lively and healthy I just bought them from a friend that lives around me that got them from meyer hatchery so new to their ordering process. I got a Ancona duck from a place in Maine called Al's Quackery she was very healthy and beautiful and came overnight but I also live in Maine. But Al's Quackery only had certain breeds.

I got nine chicks at the end of June--it was meant to take two days but the PO ended up sending them all over NC, so it was going to take three days. I said nah, and I went ahead and had them hold them at a PO an hour or so away. Initially all nine were peeping up a storm and they figured out the food and water right away. One, my Olive Egger, failed to thrive and died on day 3, so at five days old.

For anyone that ordered chickens or ducks from Meyer Hatchery, how long did it take you to recieve them? Did you experience any losses. How was your experience?
All my chickens except for one are from Meyer Hatchery. I live in California and it took about 24 hours for them to get to my post office. My first batch of eight had five that died within a day and a half, but they sent me out replacements and they were all healthy. I am not sure, but I think the first shipment had problems with the heat pack because the box was not warm. Customer service was great and although I was hesitant about having more chicks shipped out, they assured me that that does not regularly happen. The second batch had no casualties. All of them were also sexed correctly, so ended up with seven females from Meyer hatchery.

I just read my tracking # they are in transit but sounds like they came from Metzer Farms which is in California. I almost ordered from them because I liked the selection they had but I liked that Meyer Hatchery was closer, guess it wouldn't have mattered lol.
