In reading through the MI GAAMP for poultry, I have some questions.
First of all - it talks about 'stocking density' what the heck is that?!?
Second - must all chickens have individual cages, or will one coop inside an enclosed run work? In the GAAMPs it speaks of 1 sq. foot of housing per hen - does that mean that by their standards a hen only needs a foot of space in the coop instead of the 2-4 ft. per bird if there is an attached run that most poultry folks go by?
I am trying to get my 'chickens in a row' here as I prepare my farm to the GAAMPs standards to gain protection through the RTFA.
Also - what is a fair price for fresh eggs? I want to sell some to my local community and am wondering what is a fair price?
