Michigan Chickenstock 2010 updated 3/13

Those little kittens were adorable!

There were rabbits, puppies and kittens at the Chickenstock, along with chickens (of course!), geese, and ducks. Last year there were some turkeys and guinea fowl, but I didn't see any of those this year. Did anyone end up bringing peafowl to Chickenstock?

Although it rained on Saturday night my tent was fine.... Sunday night ..ummm not so much.. LOL We decided to stay another night and be well rested fro the drive home... but mother nature had other plans.. oh well such as life.

It was great meeting everyone... great food

I didn't have turkey poults, but someone who bought a couple of them stuck them in my carrier until after they ate so they didn't have to hold them.

Also Babszoo had turkey eggs on my table. Trying to remember who had the turkey poults but my mind is blanking right now.

Hi,
I am new to BYC (as of 05/01/10). I read every post in this thread and I think you all are wonderful!! What a great idea "Chickenstock"! Every state should have one. I am Arkansas and could not have made it to your get together but I would have loved too. It looked like a lot of fun and great pictures!!!! I gotta see if there is one of these in Arkansas....great idea!!

Hi, I had a great time at my first Chickenstock, as did my children. I bought 15 BLRW eggs from someone... anyone know who was selling them? I remember they had a label, "from (Firstname Lastname) stock," and I can't remember the name. It meant nothing to me at the time, but now I'm reading up on the breed and I'd like to keep track of where they came from. I also bought three 9-day old BLRW chicks from someone... you had a bunch... and my son was running around with one of yours. Can you PM me? I'd like to know about their background as well. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
