Michigan Hatchers! What'cha got cookin?

Just set 24 eggs in the incubator at 1:30pm today.. cant wait.. hope i have a good hatch. hard to tell since we had some freezing temps outside while the eggs were in the nest.. i let them set out in a carton on the counter since around 6pm yesturday, so they should be room temp.


Is anyone getting close to lockdown.

My babies finished hatching out yesterday! I have 5 White Leghorn/Speckled Sussex mixes, 2 Light Brahma mixes and 1 RIR mix along with 5 Bantam Cochin chicks! Woot-woot! All that went into lockdown hatched.

Now, does anyone need chicks????? I only plan on keeping the Bantam Cochin myself... Was checking fertility with the other eggs.

Just finished up my outdoor brooder. It's running about 85f floor temperature, before we put the insulation and additional heat lamp in on the other side. About 6 inches of bedding and I'd like to think they'll stay nice and warm!

Babies are on their way and should be here tomorrow

lovemychicklet awe what cute chickies.our chicks are the same age. my hatch ended yesturday. I would say you have good fertility ,your leghorns look like my leghorm mix chicks.. mine are leghorn/ee , if you cant find anyone on here to take them, sell or giveaway on craigslist. people will be wanting some soon

aart - yesturday was my end of hatch, i unplugged washed it out incubator and plugged back in so i can set eggs today.. i am going to sell a few of them, alot of these eggs are my friends eggs she gave me 18 eggs of mix and i put some of my eggs in again.. she has red orp, buff orp, rir,wyandotte, hens and her roo is brahma.. i wanted some orphingtons.. she only wants like 6 of her chicks and a couple of my leghorn mix. and i guess if i cant sell them i have some friend downstate that want some chicks.. or i can post them on here and see if anyone wants some.. lol

ii only plan on keeping 6 of this hatch..and maybe 6 of the next.. I figure i can sell pullet come june if they dont sell as chicks..but i think they will.. last year people wanted them and i was just learning how to hatch.. and didnt have good results my first hatch couple of hatches.. so i figure i love hatching. why not have some for next month when people are starting to buy them. there isnt anyone selling chicks near my town..

I have Jubilee Orpingtons, Tolbunt Polish and Swedish Flower Hens that are purebreds. My muttlies are EE, LH, RSL, and Partridge Barthuhner hens with Partridge Barthuhner roos. I can give you a good deal! I have some Jubilee and Swede chicks I need to sell or put up on auction.
