DH (Iamfivewire) is a proud "pappa" :) We have 10 hatched so far... :) this pic is five of them :)

YAAAAAAY! I did something similar last year to keep my OEs seperate from my marans.

@glad I know you mentioned this b4, how many and how old are your hens.. you should be getting lots of eggs somethings going on..

I have 5 that are entering their 3rd summer which puts them at the 2-2.5 laying period. Then I have I think 9 that are coming into their 2nd summer, 5 that started laying in the fall, 10 that started or should have started laying in the end of January, another 4 that are coming into POL (hatched in the end of October and are pinking up), and then 3 silkies that are in their first laying cycle (hatched mid-summer, and I did get a few eggs about a month ago and nothing since). Of the birds that AREN'T silkies, 2 are polish/houdan and have *only* laid for me in the summer. So yeah. 36 birds, although I don't think the 4 are quite old enough yet. REALLY close since they are the same age as RaZ's canaries that recently started laying.

I did get 6 eggs today when I checked at 1130, one of which was the first marans egg I've gotten in over 3 weeks, so maybe it's finally warmed up enough for them.

Will check again later for more, but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh. And I wormed everyone in November when they were molting.

5 more days till hatch day Here!

As for my 3 week olds.... happy with my colors so far in my cochin bantams! Even got 2 chocolates. 1 solid and 1 mottled! :)

Nice!....what are they lighter ones with the black and gray markings?
Those are the Iowa Blues and the DellaBlues :) a cross between the Delaware and Iowa Blue. They are very hard to tell apart! The only thing I may be able to tell is I believe the DellaBlues will have yellow legs where both Iowa Parents: cockerel has gray green legs and the mothers all have slate.

The black ones are the birchen Iowa Blues. We have two darker brown EE's and two RSL crosses where one came out white/cream and the other dark brown/black markings.

We have a bakers dozen of 13. Day 22 and two lonely eggs lay in the incubator, not even a pip yet

I took this pic just a second ago. These are the 11 in the brooder. I have two newest hatches in the bator with the 2 unpipped eggs. The top two on the left, first EE, then RSL cross. The two striped in the middle group with the gray on their backs opposed to the dark color on the back are the DellaBlues (two of them, the rest are Iowa Blue chicks).
