You can help me. i live in Taylor. Please tell me what worked. They showed up a few years ago and made me get rid of my four hens. They have been snooping around again- went to my neighbors house to "follow up on numerous complaints about me having possibly chickens"...all neighbors deny calling them and they have not contacted me yet.

I live in a subdivision with an average sized sub. backyard. fenced. If you could tell me what worked for this city to keep them away/make them give up/etc, I would appreciate it. I would like to be armed when they show up at my house again- if they do- its not even summer yet, and they sometimes sit at the corner- or drive slowly down the street, trying to "hear" any chickens, etc. I have one hen who has to leave because she is so darn loud- I am a respectful neighbor, and I know my neighbors suffer from "if I can hear it, it must be bothering me"....lol.

You could reply in a pm, an email, or here on the board.
Thank you very much in advance!

Have you directly countered their claim that chickens are illegal with the Right to Farm Law? Do you meet the requirements (it msut be commercial--not pets, although there is no saying that your pets cannot lay eggs that you sell)?

Wow, I'm in the same situation you're in. I live in West Bloomfield, MI, and we've recently gotten our poultry from this nice little house/farm in Brighton also. We have neighbors on either side of us on our one acre strip of land. So far no problems have arisen from the county.

I have a question. This forum has given me great information! Thanks everyone!
My question is:
I live in a mobile home park. I plan to get the rules & regulations for the park BUT if there is nothing in the rules stating about having poultry would it be possible for me to have like 3 chickens? As long as it doesnt bother the neighbors I know this. & I can also sell the eggs to the neighbors! hehe!
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you very much!

Alsome....We've been fighting Coloma over our right to install our greenhouse for a home business. Never new about the right to farm act. TAKE THAT COLOMA!!! I GOT YA!!!
