Michigan Right to Farm Law, what does it mean?

OH! and here is another interesting and happy development. Douche neighbor who started all the non-sense with his inability to recognize property lines closed on the sale of his house yesterday. He is no longer a property owner in Shelby Township and will be moving along shortly. Hopefully the new neighbors are decent folks like the other 9 neighbors who share a common property line with us. If he drags his sorry butt into the hearing when they finally have one, we will be able to point him right back out as his complaints are no longer valid.

Deannag, Print off copies of this, laminate it and hang it on every gate. Print off a sign with a brief summary stating vandelism, removal, destruction or damage to any property or animals within your property is a violation of Federal Law as seen below. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/109/s3880/text
If you are a commercial farm or other animal enterprise and you are protected by the MRTFA, you can use the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act against anyone who causes you economic loss or bodily injury or even conspiracy to commit either one by their actions, destructions or theft. Just the fact that you have it hanging on your gate may give them pause.

Thank you for posting this link!!! There is also a section that addresses vandalism.
When we got our first "violation notice" the township trespassed and put about 20 violation stickers all over our coop. They now admit RTF protection. Think this would constitute vandalism?
When I actually do break the law and speed, the cop writes or mails me a ticket. He does NOT stick 20 copies of the ticket all over my car...

Thanks for sending this.. Shelby twp will be having a meeting in December I will post the date and time .I did call channel 7 . They will be more than happy to broadcast our efforts to keep our chicks

Oh, I didn't say that. I've been swamped since I started my new job, and I'm actually starting to find some free time again. I'm planning on going to the Shelby Township meeting in early November. I'll try to attend anything I can.

I think the Shelby Township meeting is now delayed until early December.

The Sweet Peas Farm court hearing, I think, is now scheduled for December 13th.

November 6th there is still an Ag Commission meeting in Lansing, but apparently the proposed 2014 GAAMPs will NOT be presented at that meeting. We've now heard from a couple of sources that the whole process is being pushed into early 2014 - which is not to say that there isn't plenty to say at that meeting anyway. Have you seen the letter that Wendy Powers, the chair of the Site Selection GAAMPs committee sent to the Ag Commission meeting in July? And the FOIA'd draft 2014 Site Selection GAAMPs? Both are here, at the top of the page: http://sustainablefarmpolicy.org/the-commission/

Nice to hear from you again!
