Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Raz, you looked great - so much better than jerkface. Loved the look around your little farm, too. Overall not a bad piece - although I think the big issue is the CRIMINAL violation instead of zoning. Obviously punitive and a personal vendetta on the prosecutor's part for your not knuckling under right away. Thanks for the link Lisa, it worked great.

Polio causes it's victims permanent disability, as well as rearing it's ugly head again and again years later. Many people who had polio as youths will have serous health issues as the years go by as a result of their childhood infection. I can remember receiving the Polio vaccine as a young girl in the 60's, but my uncle had polio as a child and my family was especially sensitive about it.

Thank you all for the support and kind words. I was a bit surprised at the TV crew coming out so quickly. I would have liked some time to clean up. I was dirty from doing chores and just threw on a clean T-shirt.

They were here for nearly 2 hours and the presence of the news van brought out the lookie-loos. Still, I thought it was pretty good.

Hopefully it will help with the other cases pending in GC. Mike's trial is May 8.

Yuck! Get better, please. Yes, it does seem like it's going around (so to speak). My neighbor's son was in the ICU for his polio. The doctors don't know how to treat it and he's not doing so well. They were out of town for three weeks to be with him in the hospital. I can see the weariness in them from it.

Polio? I thought that was almost eradicated?

We are biased. But not because we're blindly in love with chickens as some would believe. It's because we know that if properly kept, the same as with dogs and cats, they are clean, quiet and give you healthy eggs - a super food. But if we needed other reasons, hens don't bark at all hours of the night, certain breeds aren't prone to mauling you, aren't procreating out of control or feral in Michigan. All true of cats and dogs that are not properly kept and too often the case.

We're biased because we aren't afraid of the unknown because we know.

I added the link to fox 2 news on my FB page.I am thinking of submitting it to Huffington post!

Randy - I'm posting your news story on my facebook page - I'd like to include a blurb as a call to action with it. Do you have a donation page set up? Or anyone I can ask people to write/call?

My sister shared the story on her FB page (and she works for the state gov't, shhhhh).

Saw this pic today, don't know who painted it so I can't give credit but thought it was pertinent.

Well done Raz! Hopefully the publicizing your circumstances will shed some light on what seems to have been a very 'keep it hush hush' case by the city.

I found a little chick under my broody this morning! Going back out soon to see if it has a friend yet or not. She was on 7 eggs, so I'm hoping for 3 or 4 total. They were shipped eggs, incubated for the first 17 days, and then she decided to go broody so I'm hoping to make her feel like super-mommy!
