Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

About hatching, I always let the duck moms do it, but it is so so so stressful. I have helped a duckling, it didn't make it tho. I've been wondering about hatch rates with artificial incubation vs. Broody ducks, however.... My largest broody duck hatch is 6. However, I gave away 1 doz eggs that the recipient decided to incubate, and she hatched 9 out of 12 (!!) So I wondered if her experience was the rule, and is that rule true for chickens or turkey too?

Ya, but how about over a year?

Over a year then you got a good boy, if you can breed them all spur less and calm and friendly you have something special!! At lesst in my opinion :thumbsup

Dying to know how the hatch is going???
I swear off hatching chicks, every three weeks or so. And some how eggs still find their way in there and my finger nails keep getting sorter and the coop just keeps growing.
I think I have a problem ????

The first egg is still mostly egg. The chick has a foot out but that has been the only progress for 24 hours.
Chick #2 pipped, zipped and hatched in just a few hours.
Another egg is wiggling.

Way to go Taprock. Can someone from up that way get me a copy of the paper?

I actually think this IS the rule...
I don't think I like this game.
