Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I measured over 18"...

Here's my driveway..mind you, this is just the part right by our house (DH is 6'5"). There is a 3/10 mile stretch that also runs north-south from the road to even get up here. And of course, a cornfield to the west of it, so all the snow is blowing over it too! I can actually see trucks driving on the dirt road, so it's plowed...I just can't get to it !!

My word! We all get snowed in and have nothing better to do! Didn't check in all weekend, was a long and busy one, and come back to 290 posts!

ANYWAY, hope ya'll are fairing well enough. this weather... Sheesh.

I have a problem. Strutter, my big beauty, he is molting. Poor boy, He looks horrible. BUT that is not the problem. I noticed today that his feet are stiff. Toes are not moving, not bendable nothing. I don't know how the heck he is walking. It's not mite, and I am fairly certain it isn't frost bite, because his two hens feet are just fine. His comb and wattles are also fine. They have a 6 inch wide roost board. Any ideas? I had this withi with Little Pretty after the coon attacked her. The one foot on the leg that was severely injured, those toes stiffened right up and she could barely walk and I had to isolate her for a while so she could get her weight up and heal some more. BUT this is both of his feet, not just the one. I don't know what could be the problem. Any ideas would be great.

I got nothing, Nova :( I'll think hard though

Sad news here tonight
My d'uccle girl looks like she's dying. :( I have no idea why, she's been in the house since the beginning of winter.

I've put antibiotics in her water in a last ditch effort; she won't eat even raw yolk or bread. So torn and confused; the only symptom is white diarrhea but i can feel nothing that is constipating her or no bound egg. She's stone cold as well, though the temp in the bird's room is 65 degrees. I've heat lamped her at this point but idk what else to do; just making her comfortable. I tried forcing pellets but she spits even when i hold her beak shut. :( She's been eating like a horse up until yesterday, day before. She was still eating and warm though. Yesterday she was laying down a lot but i thought she was going to lay an egg. Today this. :(

@fuzzybutt love So sorry to hear this. You might want to post on the Emergencies Thread. Not knowing chickens, I don't know what to suggest. And sorry for the other losses too.
I'm struggling keeping my flock watered, since they won't go outside (where the liquid water is located).
Friends, hang in there, Friday will be 37'F--
I swear I will be partying Friday!

Speaking of parties, Bess, Happy Birthday to You! And DH too! Please post your recipe. :) :) :)

i'm broke now :( cold weather expenses have drained me, and i have had a lot of unpaid days off from holidays.

I got a few tiny bits of the yolk down her, and i did put some duramycin in her water too; i didn't know what else to do. She is drinking a lot more now. No eating though. Only a few pecks and a few pieces of crumble, literally. Can't even jump up to roost.

My hen house is designed the same way. I have open sophets but really need the open pop door for ventilation also. It is going to get super stinky in there but there is a lot of blowing so hopefully that will help ventilate things. I hate cooping them up but the weather and the wind is horrible.

I just came in from getting trapped in the pen. Funny dang thing now that it's over but not while I was trapped in there! I had to climb the fence to get in and fell into a huge pile of fluffy now. Good landing, so very graceful, hahaha. Then couldn't find a way out! The fence door is blocked so bad that I could not shovel it out, asthma sucks. Anyway, I found a bucket to hop on and another fence to bend to smitherines in order to get my buns out of there. Probably end up on funniest videos. Eeek!

Soooo, I know it's horrible weather out there and the middle of winter but... no one is interested in our lonely young Gold Sebright roo????? I can meet you in town today since I have to run to TSC and the doctor for my son.....?
He is a beautiful rooster. I love my RIR rooster, I don't know how he would do with another roo around, it's so cold right know to test things.

Same here. The Muscovies I've seen out, but the campbell's aren't comin out of their house. I keep all food and water outside and have straw on the ground for them. I went out and checked 4 x's today and they just don't seem to be eating and drinking much. Gave them extra mealworms, they ate from my hands while staying in the doghouse. They still sounded chipper, but u still worry. Can't wait for Saturday, will seem like a heat wave.
