Quick eggshell feeding question...do you just crush them up and mix them in their feed so they don't recognize it?

And I am so ready for spring...and so are the girls! They started giving me 4 eggs a day, but now the egg factory is running slow with this cold :(

I wasn't in the market for chicks anyhow. I'm looking for maple tree tapping supplies. Anyone know who has some? Just want the spiles. It's not too late to tap right? With this frigid stuff going on?
The Family Farm and Home ad had a kit advertised this Sunday. I know Blandford Nature Center is selling spiles, but that's a bit of a drive for you. Maybe you could combine that with a trip to the Geek Group. They're just down the road from each other.

I just toss the shell out there. I don't do anything special to it. But you can let it dry out and crush it up and feed it to them.

yeah but only in da moonlight......... lol! (get it? anyone?)

I need to set up my camera too.. is yours wireless? mine has cables and I don't think they're long enough... hopefully the kids arrive nice n healthy!

Mine is due end of March... though her udder is getting fuller I wonder if she's not going to kid sooner!

I had a long range wireless one on order, but then it got backordered for so long I just went out to Walmart and got a wired one. Menards sells 100 foot lengths of BNC cable, so a few lengths of that and the system was good to go.

If the wireless one arrives in a decent amount of time, I'll use that too. It supposedly has a 1000 meter range.

@gaitngirl So sorry about your hen. I hope she's ok and not as bad as feared. I wouldn't know where to start. Except to warm her slowly and don't rub is what they say for people. That would further damage the tissue. Also no products with "caine" in them as those are toxic to chickens. Hope this isn't too late. :fl :hugs
