I don't really believe in chance but that things happen when they are supposed to. So this week Miss Mouse has been doing worse. Last night I spent time with her and she was not able to stand at all. So I decided it was time to make some tough decisions about her. This morning she was the same, maybe a bit worse so I called our vet. They don't deal with poultry but I took a chance. There was no way I could wring her neck or let someone else do it. She has gone from chicken to pet over the past two months. The vet said they do not work with poultry but there was a visiting vet from Tennessee there today only who would euthanize her. They could do it right then if I came in, in the next half hour. It was $10 but for my piece of mind it was worth it. I don't think I could have gone through with it if I would have had to wait so it was perfect timing. They tried to put the needle in between neck vertebrae but she was so small they couldn't so they used the vein under her wing. My vet asked for some of her staff to watch so they could learn.
Anyway it's done and as sad as I am to lose her I know it was the right thing to do.
