Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi!

I'm not sure what to say but... I'm from Saginaw MI! Soooo HI!

Wonderful weather we've been having here! (I'm being sarcastic. It snowed last week ><)

Sorry, not brown layers; brown birds!  :)  chocolate is a pretty rare color in the US and i need it to start my project, now that i have the "right" trio. Greenfire does not have the bantam chocolate orloffs anymore or they aren't available. Chocolate marans though.

I have a trio of english chocolate bantam orphingtons... but their in my cochin bantam flock :)
And yep Michele (star bright) still has orloffs.

Not yet, I'm a newbie and still working on my coop. My MIL is raising them up until I finish it.

How about you?
I have 7 sebastopol goose. Only keeping two of them though! They just hatched two days ago. The two I'm keeping have already imprinted on me. They are so cute!

Later this summer I want to raise chickens for eggs and meat. I have to get my coop together before I can do this though!

So are you expanding your chocolate line to the cochins??? Will you have any sale birds this year??? Do you know if it is sure chocolate, or dun??? I am aware of cost for this color bird. As soon as i get moved and coop in place...so looking pretty hard. How is their temperament? Are they quick to quarrel or laid back?

A banty baby female would be my lonely boy's mate if he chose her. A male would be flock leader of the best of my trio's babies (if i ever can get any hatched)

Well, what a busy weekend for me!

Thursday- Triplet kids born.

Friday- 6 piglets born.

Saturday- I got engaged and my niece was born! My niece's name is Eden, and she weighed 8lbs 1oz. 21in. Born 4/19/14 Very chubby baby! Some of you may remember that my brother and his wife had lost a baby boy in '12, so we are very happy for them that they have a very healthy baby this time!
