Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Congrats Daron! That's good news.

Thanks for all the compliments on the coop. It was a lot of work so I appreciate it.

I started off my day helping a chick out of an egg. It wasn't pipped, last egg in the incubator and it cheeped all night long. This morning, it was silent and still not pipped so I cracked it open (as I do any egg before throwing it out) and it was shrink wrapped. I thought it was a goner but then it surprised me by peeping so I helped it out, left for the entire day and came home to a fluffed chick. Hatched nine out of eleven eggs for the second hatch this year, not too bad.

Does anyone have week old or younger ducklings in South East Michigan? I had a single Muscovy duckling hatch last night and I'm looking for 2 companions for him. It doesn't really matter what breed or mixed as long as they aren't Pekins.

They had some at FFH in Wayland yesterday.

Heavy sigh..... He has a huge pole barn that he works out of already. Filled to the brim so he can now only fit one car in it at a time to work on!!! Maybe some day I'll win the battle

How about fencing in the goats so they stay separate from his cars?

Congrats on your engagement & adorable niece!

Welcome to the newbies from Saginaw!

Been busy. The new coop is almost finished. Aside from painting and adding siding, I've been working on a grow-out pen under the roosts that will feature a poop board for a roof. You can also see we've been busy clearing away the storm damage... from December.

That is VERY nice!! Love the coop.
