Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

It's official. I have around 3-5 12 week old Silver Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhauben hens that must GO! I am in the Grand Rapids, MI area and will be charging $10.00 each for these pullets. These birds are a mix of hatchery and breeder stock. They are eating, disease free, parasite free and have been housed with several other types of breeds as well as with ducks. There is nothing wrong with these birds with the exception that I need to cull them in order to further my breeding efforts. If they do not get adopted, which I prefer, then they will be going to the block! PM myself if interested with your history and experience on keeping chickens. I can be picky on who gets them. Also if you have crested experience, please let me know. Thanks everyone!

PS - Also have a Golden Laced Cochin Rooster that must go!

I really laughed at that! We call Saginaw, MI - Sagnasty.
The sad thing is that it's pretty much true. You aren't going to find higher-dollar manufacturing/factory jobs up here, few unionized companies big enough to make the "union" mean anything, and MOST of the rest of the workforce is tourist based which means retail and service industry. Of course, throw Leelanau County into the mix (or "THE County" as the snotty people like to call it.....being from there it's kind of takes me aback when I hear people refer to it as that) and yeah.....the stories I could tell.

I lived in the Soo for four years. I was never a yooper, lol! I have friends up there I hunt/fish with - good people, a little weird, but good none the less.

My daughter lives in Boston, Massachusetts. They allow 4 chickens per household. Can you believe that? The world is crazy to say the least.
Then you are a Yooper Transplant!! LOL My husband is one of those. He was a cheesehead. the world is crazy for sure. There are good people and bad everywhere you go. but have only talked to good ones here.
