oh yay. I have a guy picking up a sand rail on a trailer coming from Grand Rapids. That ought to be fun hauling home.

It's hit us here, 30 miles west of Kazoo....they're saying 6-9" by Fri pm.

This was 7am...another inch since then and still falling heavy intermittently, lake effect.

Muskegon here.... I'm gonna need a snowblower to get in my driveway after work...

my 15 minute drive from 96 to 31 N turned into an hour this morning.

It was about 5" deep this morning in Fruitport. and still coming down heavy.

I live only 30 miles north of the Indiana border......but 15 miles east of the lake....lake effect happens.

I both love it and hate it.....

Love to play in the snow, less capable as I age tho, I don't even mind throwing snow with my awesome little tractor/tank....

but I hate bunches of snow on warm ground, impossible to throw and tears the dirt/gravel driveway up bad.

Agriculture Commission and MI Dept. of Agriculture & Rural Development Seeking Public Input on Agricultural Management Practices

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD) today announced a public input meeting and review period has been scheduled for December 12, 2014 in order to gather comments on the 2015 drafts of the state’s Generally Accepted Agricultural and Management Practices (GAAMPs).
Public comment will be taken on all of the following GAAMPs. There are proposed changes in the GAAMPs for: Manure Management and Utilization, the Care of Farm Animals, and Site Selection and Odor Control for New and Expanding Livestock Facilities. The GAAMPs regarding Pesticide Utilization and Pest Control, Farm Markets, Nutrient Utilization, Cranberry Production, and Irrigation Water Use have no proposed changes for 2015.
The GAAMPs public input meeting will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014, in the Lake Superior Conference Room at the State of Michigan Library and Historical Center located at 702 West Kalamazoo Street, Lansing, Michigan.
Written comments may be submitted to MDARD’s Environmental Stewardship Division, P.O. Box 30017, Lansing, MI 48909 and postmarked no later than December 12, 2014, or sent via e-mail to [email protected] by 5 p.m. on December 12, 2014. MDARD will forward all comments received by the due date to the respective GAAMPs Task Force Committee Chairpersons for consideration prior to final review and adoption.
The Michigan Right to Farm Act provides nuisance protection for farms and farm operations. In order to have this protection, the farm or farm operation must conform to GAAMPs, which are approved by the Michigan Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development. These GAAMPs are reviewed annually by committees of various experts, and revised and updated as necessary.

They are at it again. Nothing really major but any letters that support returning the right to farm to Category 3 and 4 would be nice.
In fact, letters to request the elimination of categories 3 & 4 would be even better.

On a side note, two (2) of the commissioners will be replaced for 2015. Although MDARD is still controlled by the Ag industry and Farm Bureau.

Seasons are good...

Winter should not last 6 months.

I haven't seen Spring in years, it goes right from winter to summer.
