Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I'm sorry, I did notice you back, lady. But, I was on the run and didn't take the time to say hi! Well, HI! I'm glad you stopped in and told us what's going on. I really do like seeing the old peeps come on and let us know what is going on with your lives. I miss the banter we had in the old days. Maybe I just chalk it up to the way it is. But... I still miss our old friends and the chit chat amoung us.

Hello everyone

It's been pretty busy around home, with all the cutting and splitting of this winter's firewood. I still drop in once an a while though.

Ok, time for all of the past posters to get on here and say Hi. Lots of new faces but where are all of my old peeps? Been said before but seriously! Did everyone lose interest in social media? Too busy? Find a time and let's here what's up.
Ironically there was a thread on FB with comments from some of the old posters. They were lamenting how the group has changed and we have too many "know-it-alls" and too many newbies asking dumb questions. We went through something similar a few years back when the original thread was shut down and this version came into being.

I've heard a few other comments that questions don't get answered immediately or introductions get lost. This thread moves pretty quickly at times and not all people are willing to read the dozens of posts so things can get overlooked. You can set the subscription notification to be alerted immediately, daily, weekly or not at all.

This is social chat room more than anything else. But questions about health, breeding, care, coops and other topics are often brought up. So we get opinions based on experience and sometimes links to science-based research. Everyone who does answer a question does so in a sincere and thoughtful method. We may not always agree but the reader has information to form his/her own opinion.

I don't think anyone here is a snob. I don't think that this is a site for a select few people to dominate the site. Since I have been here I've met a lot of great people. I've visited their homes and they have visited mine. A few people have faded away for any number of reasons and we have new folks joining and becoming more active in their posts.

So while we miss some of our old friends we wish them well and hope they pop in from time to time. And for the new folks lurking and waiting to jump in, just do it.

We will be starting the Chickenstock comments in about a month. So stay tuned.

Moved one of my Andi roosters to a new home. It was just easier sticking with one. This weather has been something else. Been letting the flock out even though there isnt much, they still enjoy going through the leaves. Not much going on other than that.

As one of the "old" members of this thread I can only echo what Raz posted. Occasionally requests for help or advice are overlooked but that is in no way based on who liked or not liked. The sheer volume of posts can often lead to a request not being answered. Add in how busy we all get at times, it is amazing that more aren't missed.

I know that I haven't been posting as often of late, but I have been super busy cutting, splitting, hauling, and stacking fire wood for my old friend. And now with deer season still on I have been trying to spend as much time as possible in the woods. I've taken 3 deer to date and would like to take at least 3 more before the season ends on January 1st.

I took the third doe yesterday morning and for supper last night Hope made a egg noodle dish with tenderloin sautéed with onions, celery, and bell peppers. Anyone who has never eaten venison tenderloin can't appreciate how wonderful they taste..

As one of the old ones, I check in almost every day to see how everyone is. I don't necessarily have anything to say. But love keeping track of everyone. I would like to wish every one Blessings at Christmas.
