Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Have you tried giving her tylan 200?  I don't know the dosage information, but you can find it on the peafowl site, you'll have to weigh her or have a good estimate.

Haven't given her anything yet. Today is the first day of no eating, drinking &'total fail at walking.
She's plopped down on the ottoman on a towel in the living room with me, the 3 cats & dog! I put some food pieces in front of her &'she did eat a few..but only if I play with it first.

I can pick up some Tylan tomorrow..weighing her will be no problem. How is tylan administered? I'll rephrase...better IV or orally?

I use tylan 50 at 1/2 a cc orally, but it is for respiratory.no bumble? No impacted crop? No swollen and/or warm joints? What exactly were the previous symptoms? She been pooping normal ? Before, too? It kinfa dors sound like mareks, but only one bird? You are the second case today i've run across, but the other isn't in mi. (( )) Get her to eat and drink if you can!

Check to make sure but from what I've read the dosage is 10-40mg/kg of bird given IM. 2 or 3 x daily. Check this out with somebody else.

Crop seems fine, don't think joints swollen.
About a week ago she just started moving slowly, kind of hanging by herself. Brought her in for a day/night to monitor food & water intake & check poops. All good.

About 2 days ago she seemed to be limping a bit & her right wing droopy. Brought her back in. Still eating, drinking & pooping okay. Yesterday, I went to put her in deck & her right foot seemed pretty useless. Still poops looked good (she was kind enough to leave a sample as soon as I set her on the deck).

Today. She simply can't walk..if I pick her up, set her down, she just kind of flops trying to get up....very sad. She did just chow down on the pieces of food I put in front of her & took a small sip of water. She seems very alert, eyes clear. She is one of the 3 pullets that my Marans hatched back on Mother's Day....

oh no. no Kaia. Hope you can help her, Kat.

Denaguard is best, but mail order only and pricey. Of the easy access meds tylan is the best. It can also be given as a shot, in your shoes if this is what you get at least the first couple doses i'd do that as she is pretty bad off. I don't prefer to stress them but in this case....
