Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day. I am stuck at work eagerly awaiting 4pm so I can go home and let my silkie out to free range for a while.

On another note, I did go up to Taprock's and pick up the hens from Stacykins yesterday. Taprock and her son were great in taking care of them until I could make it up there. They showed me there flock and coops, but I just couldn't stay too long. The hens made the trip seemingly well, even laying an egg in the cage on the trip home. Big beautiful blue egg, but no egg song. I don't know if Stacykins had the hens named or not, but I have named them
Stella, CiCi, and Kelly so as to never forget how generous
Stacykins has been in giving me her beautiful birds.

Hopefully everything goes well with your husband's recovery. That stabilizing mechanism on his leg, wow, that looks intense!

Yay! I am so glad you were able to bring them home! And yay for the egg! I bet it is fertile, if you feel like incubating it, haha! Probably was the duckwing gal, since she hasn't started her molt yet. I honestly hadn't named them. I mostly referred to them by their color. I am just so terrible with names (I really am, so glad when I get critters that come prenamed!)! The names you gave them are so awesome, and a very sweet gesture! I hope they do well in your Araucana flock!

I removed the fence between the run and the hosta bed. Chickens are having a blast. Even Gravy (my BLA) came out to play in the leaves.

Such a nice day here. This is what fall should be like.
