Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

omg I must have counted wrong! My hatch day wasn't suppose to be until Sunday/monday, but I came home to 4 chicks and at least another pipping! I'm completely unprepared!
I went to go pick up momma because I only got 1 egg today, and I figured maybe the other laid in that nest box, and when I picked her up I heard an angry peep, and was totally confused for a moment
I have stuff to do now, and I don't know where to start!
You don't really have to do anything, do you?
Mama will take care of it all, unless you have to move them for some reason....but I'd wait a coulpe days until all eggs have hatched out.

I originally wanted a brooder setup as a "just in case" something goes south. My biggest concern is the other ladies/gent hurting the wee little ones. I dont know how they are going to react to new additions :p

Cute, but where's mama?
She's there in the second photo. The first photo she was in the next nest box to the left. Those were actually snapped a bit of time apart from each other. The first photo was during my moments of "zomg what do?!" with unexpected chicks.

I originally set 12. I lost 2 to physical damage, and have the remaining 10. So far, 40% hatch rate. Let's hope for more!

I'm hoping for 25%! This is my first time bator hatching with shipped eggs. So far I'm down to 4 out of 6 developing.

Lined up a freezer camp date for my Rangers next Saturday. taking them over to Kastels over in Riga on the second of July.
How many did you end up with? How do you like the Rangers? I've heard great things about them compared to the Corn X. I can't wait till I have some property to free range. Then I'll be in the meat market. :D
