Yay for new peepers! Mine are only 8 weeks old and I already miss the little fuzz butts.

Still working on the run, but the coop is done enough that I moved the chick's in last week.

So the run is being built in 8ft panels.8ft out from front of coop,16ft across,16ft back, and 16 ft across the back of the coop with a 4ft return to meet up with the back of the coop. All panels are covered with 1/2" hardware cloth attached with wood screws and fender washers. We bent the edges over on each piece of hardware cloth so the edges are smooth. Tomorrow we will be working on the cover for the run. It too will be covered with hardware cloth as the walls are. Once the walls of the run are up, I will be laying down and attaching hardware cloth skirting. This is my first time with chickens, and I don't want to lose any so I'm kind of going for the Fort Knox effect on the coop and run. Its been a lot of work, and hopefully it will pay off in safety for my girls.

I'm trying. Can't upload from my mobile, and can't seem to get files to transfer from Android to my Mac. :/ Still working on it. Maybe my facebook pictures will work if use the url from there. Off to try.

Grrr! This is annoying! lol

Maybe now?

Finally! The front of the coop. It faces south, the back is two large doors that open completely for cleaning. I'll try to get a pic of that.

Very nice. And I agree with the Fort Knox approach. It's always nicer to learn from someone else's mistakes rather than make them yourself.

Thank you! I read a lot on here and learned some very useful stuff. It's built from The Daisy Cooper plan from cleancoops.com.

This was supposed to be my second Buff Orpington, but obviously not. I'm not even sure she's a she! None of the others have combs or wattles like that and they are all the same age, 8 wks. I'm not even sure of the breed. They came from Townline in Zeeland via my local grain elevator in Armada. I guess I'll know if she crows! Lol
