Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I had an opossum get through 2x4 in wire, he is no more, poor thing, the rain was a pain, everything is muddy now, had to go into town to walk the dog, Had a bag of fine pine shavings to spread in the run so the hens don't get so muddy, and I don't slip an fall while filling feeders and water.
All our snow was gone yesterday, today there is a covering of snow.
aart your birds are brave, mine will not go into the snow unless they have to. they prefer to stay under the covered area.

Welcome to the newbies

:welcome 1 mutt has good advice on coop safety, as did Aart. electric wire about 1' up helps to, as long as it is working:oops:, the hawks are a pain in the summer when free ranging.
in the UP you may not want to free range.

Due to some big changes on the home front, I need to downsize my flock. I have 14 chickens and 6 ducks I'm looking to rehome. So far all the response I've received has included people flaking out, or people looking to eat them. I'd rather they not go for meat if possible.

Posting info here. https://lansing.craigslist.org/grd/d/14-chickens-6-ducks-whole/6469349341.html
I seen your post when I came home but I had to take care of my ducks and think on this before I posted. I only need 2 female ducks at this time. Unfortunately I can't take them all. If your willing to separate your flock, I could help but I understand if you don't want to. How old are your ducks?

I guess I should add that I would keep them as pets and not for meat.

I'd be happy to split 2 off for you. They range in age between 1 and 2 years old. 2 of them are offspring of the 4. 1 is a drake, the rest are not.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like.

Thx!
