Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

we have 1/4 in. playwood on ours, but mine have 4 legs, they stand on the floor, which makes cleaning easy. I take them out twice a year and scrub them down real good. I cover with cut open feed bags. poo cleans off very easily and once they get gross just through them out. makes washing them in the spring easy too.

So, yesterday DH went for a load of hay from the farmer we buy from all winter, and he announced that he only has ONE more horse quality round bale! For three of us, ten horses total. :he:mad::he Nice to have one week's notice! In March! I'm looking at the hay site, and craigs list, and putting out feelers. Anyone in SE or SC Michigan have extra horse hay? Let me know, soon.
Thanks, Mary

Even straw seems top be in short supply.
I was looking locally for straw and I couldn't find more than a few bales. What's up with that? TSC had some for about 10 bucks per bagged bale. I think I'll pass.

I went there today for a few items. Forgot to pick up egg cartons so I stopped at FFH and their cartons were 10 cents more per carton. For the same damn cartons that TSC sells. They also had hop bines for $7.99 that TSC was selling for $4.99. Same packaging. Same variety.

They had a decent selection of chicks at FFH but they were not very well cared for. The kid taking "care" of them had no idea what he was doing. I won't be going back there again anytime soon. I hope all FFHs aren't that bad.

Brimley is FAR from Perry! We can load four bales at a time, and that's a long trip for four bales. And no way to use forty, now that it's spring. I'll call them tomorrow anyway, won't hurt.
Thanks for the lead.
Mary
