Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Just added something to the CS thread. I'm calling a few old members that don't frequent much to see if they are coming so with any luck we'll see a few more posts for attendance. Well, going to be another long day outside working. Everyone have a great day!

Saw that and added to the tread, I'm thinking about doing a batch of pulled pork. :drool

I got a cheap prefab coop at tractor supply to keep my 2 weeks old in. Wind took out my old one a few weeks ago.
I’m going to move the 8 chicks out and see how they do. Surely won’t be too cold for them today!

Spent The weekend down in the Lansing area cleaning up inside and outside at Mom's house, my goodness in the low-90s each day and we are really not used to that kind of weather up in the UP. I was quite happy to get back home and find it only in the upper 70s.

I had to bring my poor chicks in because it was too hot for them. They were nervous to leave the enclosed coop area so they just sat in there and panted until I brought them back in to the AC :)

It's definitely been too hot! Better weather coming up, at least less hot.
I've been spending time hiding in the AC, rather than doing the weekend projects that need to happen.

I will admit to it being hay baling weather. Did a lot of running around outside today and had to stop and get some gold bond to keep my thighs from rubbing together. :barnie

Sorry, Robin is right...and Batman is exaggerating.

No AC here, heat is brutal....
.....and the humidity has even not reached it's evil levels yet.

We split a seasonal (camp site) with some friends down near Girard MI. We just moved the camper in the fall to a better spot and had to spend this weekend cleaning it up, and building a deck, landscaping etc...Both us and our friends are so limited on available time this year (he has momma dramma too), we had to get the work done this weekend. We also moved some of the tools etc out of moms to get started cleaning her house out. Sunday we drove up 5 hrs to Cheboygan to my nieces graduation. I told my sister and niece a week in advance that we could come up for her graduation, but we wouldn't be able to stay. My mom was mad that we weren't going to go to my sisters house to eat and do pictures. We offered to do them at the school, but ya'll know how that goes. Even finding my niece would have proved difficult, she was doing what she should have done, gone to get pictures with her classmates. It was her day, but mom was pretty rude about it and started swearing at my husband and making the wrong assumptions as to why we weren't coming out. We had to get back home to take care of livestock, go to her house to water her flowers, and then back to the camp ground to finish working. We both knew it would be several more hours before we would have been able to leave for the 5 hr ride back. So we ended up walking out and going home. (Oh and I threw my back out too, yeah me) So tired of the momma drama.

The heat took out one of my hens, found her dead last night... and "dinner" got me a good one when I went in to check his food/water. I always hold the food scoop between he and I when I go in is run (he roosts at face level)...little bugger went after the scoop so hard, it hit me in the eyebrow. I'm sporting a 1/2 gash that bled like a stuck pig and now have a black eye this morning. He is not long for this world! Bugger!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Despite working our butts off, we had a good weekend.
