Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Maybe work from home?

That's an option. We've been talking about that. Maybe in the next few years. We're also working on "retirement", where husband pursues a less competitive field of his choosing for enjoyment. Technically he has the qualifications to teach college music or computer science. He also enjoys plumbing and bike mechanics. We'll see. We might move out there yet.

It is totally really beautiful out that way. Whenever we go out to the ruralish michigan areas we come home wanting to move there. Both dh and I grew up more ruralish than metro detroit and we really miss it and the lack of traffic. This time he really, really did. He called the irish hills a road biker's paradise a few times. Not sure what a high level programmer would do in Onstead though (other than ride his bikes).
I believe its spelled Onsted actually. Lots of pretty nice places to be at out in the Irish Hills.

LOL, you should have seen the roads in Jackson city a few months ago - worst EVER. They have been redoing all the city and suburb streets. Many of the back county roads are pretty bad, but areas near MIS and Irish hills are good because it's all been maintained better for race and faster horses traffic. We love riding through Irish hills on our motorcycles too. I live in the area.
Gotta get that riff-raft out of the area somehow. US-12 is all but uncrossable unless you're at a light when you try to cut into the line. A couple of years ago we were driving a wagon of hay from Manchester along the dirt roads back to our farm during the first NASCAR race of the year and I ended up hopping out of my brother's truck to start down some Canadian race fan so that he could get the truck and wagon across the road. Calm down, you'll be back on that other guys bumper for the next 20 miles.

Kinda bummed out today. Was hoping that one of my local FFH's would have in new chicks today and that they would have those lavender Orpingtons pullets in. No dice on that. Might try again this weekend, but might just have to wait until next spring to get some.

Tsc Milford had their chicks mixed up in two of their three bins today. One bin had (probably) Cornishx chicks. Then the other two bins had black chicks, black with white on heads, red, red chipmunk, and white chicks either slim or sturdy. Guessing is such fun, right?
Very resistible!

Does this mean its unwise to get chicks from TSC?
