Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hey, RaZ, have you found your tree tapping thingys yet?

Daylight savings time is upon us. Warmer weather on the way :celebrate... and rain. Muddy yards are on the way. :th...and muddy paws :barnie
Have a good day, all.

Yes, I found them. I need to get the jugs washed and ready to go. Today looks like a good day to select the trees I want to tap.

Mud season began yesterday. Even though it was below freezing the sun warmed up the exposed ground and turned it muddy. 8 paws and 2 boots can track in a lot of mud.

Awwww...what breed is the little stinker, he looks 'So soft'....
....and is that a 'real' poodle or a doodle?

That is a full AKC Pomeranian and the big brother is full AKC Red Standard Poodle :) Beau is the poodle, 55 lbs. very laid back and will be 2 in May, the little stinker, Chewie, is only four months old, 4 lbs, and I can tell will rule the dog roost in our house. Is it true that the little dogs often are the "boss" ;) ?

Glad to see it looks like most of Michigan will warm up over freezing for a change :). RaZ, that carpet I bought is wonderful for muddy/wet feet. You can hose it off and hang to dry...absorbs so much. Pricey, but so far I am happy with it :) The real test will be soon though for sure.

SPCA Std. Poodle, 45lbs Rascal.....I was told that he's 'blue'.
Pic when he was 7, he's now 12 and pretty 'creaky'.

Let one hatch last spring then had trouble integrating the bator chicks later, so NO!
Anyone want a broody OE and a couple other OE's from last years hatch??

I would LOVE to take you up on the OE, however, if broody and not laying eggs to contribute that cool color to the dozen...? :) But! I have no OE's in my flock and would love one.
I have a truly serial broody Chantecler/EE mix. She will go broody, hatch, mother for a couple weeks then start all over again ALL SUMMER INTO FALL for the last two years! she is very dependable to hatch a small batch :) Good mamma!

AWWW! He is beautiful! Love the standards and grew up with them in my family. We had apricot, then blacks after that. I went a few years after my beloved Mo passed before getting another dog. Then I found this red puppy and fell in love with him. Standards are the best. My dad used to use ours for bird hunting. They learn so fast! The last black standard my mom had passed just shy of his 16th birthday. That is the second black she had that lived about that age!

Well, they would stop laying(for a bit) with the move...and the move would break her broody. ;)

I need an adult! I was left unsupervised and went to TSC for animal feed. I admit I looked at the chicks but there were no orps. Left TSC with only feed.

Oh my, FFH is almost next door. Stopped in for a peek. Lavender orpingtons were in with the turkeys. So without any adult present I bought them.

I'll pick them up tomorrow. I'm setting up the brooder tonight so it is ready for the lavs tomorrow. I blame all of you guys for leaving me unattended.

What a day. It's getting warmer, the sun was out all day, it was absolutely beautiful here.
AND
I got 21 eggs from 20 chickens!

I'm guessing that someone laid one late last night and then a second one later on. Anyone else ever get more eggs than chickens?
