Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Somebody is dumb at that store all right, but I don't think it is the poultry.
How much do you need that job?

Not so much "dumb" as clever. As in setting someone else for the fall while working towards the manager position. So sad that little lives are mere pawns in a power struggle.

I sent an e-mail to corporate. I'm curious as to what they say.

I do need the job for tax and insurance money. I'm willing to forgo the job if better care is provided during "Chick Days". I'm not sure what will happen now that I've blown the whistle on the negligent parties.

On a happier note...
I found this guy while doing some yardwork near the chicken run.

I see at least one of those salamanders every year around here,
only one I've seen so far this year was being eaten by the chickens.
It was a long game of 'keep away'.

Line of storms passed thru early here...constant lightning and thunder and then inch-an-hour rate of rain fall...only lasted about 30 minutes.

The nice thing about having no food in the house is that I've lost a good bit of weight. I'm down 2 pant sizes. I'm glad that the hens are laying well. Maybe I should market the Only Eggs diet.

Yeah, was going to go to the farm last night to take the manure spreader out only to have it open up and pour some more. At least the third time yesterday. Felt it was just going to be too soggy to take it out with the quad and didn't really feel like taking the rake off the tractor. Figured that it might just be better to take it out the next morning. It did get out, but we also had to deal with a flooded basement. wasn't too bad, didn't get all off the basement, but the float on the sump pump didn't trip the pump for some reason. So this morning we spent going through the basement figuring out what could be dried out and what needed to go to the dumpster or go get recycled. was a good excuse to toss out a lot of crap.

It has been a wet spring for sure. I was conducting a VFW funeral the other day and some of the old codgers were saying how their basements have not been wet since they built in the seventies and this year they were. Anyway, not as bad as those families losing their houses in Oklahoma and places. Being swept away in rivers, mudslides, etc. It humbles me when I think how some peoples problems are so bad.

Ha! BTDT!
My under house garage floods regularly, tho only a trickle from the last storms.
I put pallets(cut down to 12-18") all around the edges where I store stuff to keep everything off the floor.

For sure. Comparative Gratitude cuts my whining sessions short.

What a day! It was chilly today but I'm glad the sun was shining. Hubby took me for a Harley ride this afternoon after work. We both needed it after all the stress we've both been through this past week.
Any one have any experience or two cents to share for using oxine to sanitize coops? Also any recommendations for sanitinging runs? Coops and covered runs are fixed.
