Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Adorable? Yes. But I did have a plan for Khakis in the early spring...just no body had them. I was good though, I only got 3 even though that had more available. Trouble is that after not getting any in spring, I took the brooder down from the coop. Now I have to rework it into the coop since I changed the layout. At least I have Monday & Tuesday off to do that and get the duckies out of the cardboard box they are in right now.
Hopefully they're not all males?

Har de Har Har. All females!!! Randy, I would go so far as to say you don't just WANT ducks, you DESERVE them :lau

And you know, Ducks and Chickens do not make the best bedfellows. Ducks are way too messy and wet for a chicken coop.
Oh I know that. Ducks are so darn sloppy. I have the coop set up to house both breeds. They have both separate and shared areas. So far it seems to be working out well. Ultimately,. it will be sorted out before winter sets in. At least I hope so.

Here my two remaining Chantie cockerels are breeding the hens, and we do have some fertile eggs. Not hatching any this year though.
Mary
Ready for the dumb question of the day??? Do you eat the fertilized eggs that are not going to incubate? I don’t have a rooster yet but 2 of my girls squat like they’re scared to death and theres no rooster to be found!
I’d like to get one eventually but want to figure out the basics first:)

it’s raining here in Grand Rapids. Great for the plants!
