Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

The treeline across the ice to Mackinac Island was put up Thursday, and a few friends of mine and I ran over today, always amazing

@Sally PB i’ll keep my eyes peeled for blue australorps! Meyer Hatchery out of Polk Ohio carries Blue Australorps and will mail an order as few as 3. I might take a road trip to their farm as they are allowing pick up as well.

Sunrise is spectacular this morning and we are getting above freezing today. I am not even sure what to do with myself :wee Enjoy the day everyone!

It is nice to see the sun!
Not sure I'm looking forward to the thaw tho....
....could mean flooding/icing on the stead and frostbite in the coop.

Temp was 34 when I got up. Down to 32 now. The mudroom roof swept most of itself of accumulated snow. I shoveled that stuff off the walk. The snowbank by the walk is getting pretty high now!

What a beautiful day! Looks like more sunny days are in our future!

One of my ladies was especially vocal this morning and I thought she might be having a cheery day enjoying the sunshine, singing her egg song. I went out to collect the eggs for the day and found this gargantuan egg in the nest box!! It weighs 3 1/2 oz!! Her eggs are on average 2 1/4 - 2 3/8oz. I would have been singing that loud too if I laid something that big!

the other 2 eggs are 2 1/4.
Hope everyone is enjoying the that and not dealing with any water issues.
