Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Today looks like it is going to be the perfect spring day! The sun is shining, the temperature is spot on and all the birds are busy at it.

Spent most of the day yesterday burning a bunch of the scrap tree rubbish in the front of the property. It was the first opportunity to really spend some time down there and get things cleaned up since I moved in. Unbelievable how such a large amount of tree material burns down into a little pile of ashes. Very satisfying feeling to see progress. I also mowed the lawn...or weeds if I am being technical.:gigBoy, I can’t wait for the tractor to arrive in a couple of weeks! The property down front is really torn up from the build with utilities being run, remnants of concrete and asphalt from the prior house we tore down, and the area where the old septic tank was located caved in so there is nice size hole in the ground. And the ROCKS!!! There are so many rocks all over the place...little ones, BIG ONES, zinging my mower blade. I will need a new blade for sure.

More of the same today. Hoping to get the garage cleaned out today and start organizing it. Have a great day everyone!

Yep Pretty day chickflick! Spent yesterday in bed with flu-like symptoms. I had my 2nd Moderna shot the day before and they were not kidding about some people being affected. Nausea, chills, aches, and head! Anyway I feel 100% this morning and did chores as usual. Grand Daughter is spending the weekend here so that's nice, and busy!

I have a lot of rocks here. Some so big that the tractor can't lift them. I could push them though. Using them to made a border along the driveway.
Roto-tilled the garden yesterday after raking it with the tractor. Unearthed a lot more rocks. One got caught in the tines and stopped the tiller dead in it's tracks. Pried it out and the tines are fine.
Not so with the lawn tractor. Broke a 2 inch piece of the blade completely off one blade and bent the other. Two good Gator blades destroyed. The joys of living in the woods.

Made an oriole feeder yesterday with junk obtained from work. The oranges and grape jelly are waiting for the birds to arrive.

Here we have nearly no stones, and nothing I'd call a 'rock', except for the few we've brought home ourselves. Sand, lotsa sand, and topsoil.
Yesterday my friend came over to pick up her chicks from our shared order. Twenty moved to their new home, yahoo!
The other chicks have moved out to their coop section, also terrific.
Cackle is shipping a few as replacements tomorrow. :fl :fl :fl May they arrive safely this time!
Must get out there and dig up more weeds...
Mary
