Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Great to hear you all had a productive day. I think I can say the same, lol But first part of the roof is up. Tomorrow if it does not rain all day, will cut the paper or whatever is called to size so It can be stapled to the roof and then soon shingles, :yesss: 20210502_124021.jpg

WOW!!! Looks like everyone took advantage of the beautiful day! I’m glad we are all able to get some things accomplished.

I hope the weather forecasters are right and we get the rain they are predicting. I transplanted over 120 pots from my old house that are doing quite well considering but I would love a little help from Mother Nature on the watering end. Those plants will go in the ground first before I finish the lawn. I’m envious of your worms @Sally PB :drool . My property is fill dirt and sand....and ROCKS!!! Ive decided to pump the breaks on putting in the lawn to try and figure out this yard and the natural flow of how it is going to live. There’s no hurry and I’d would rather not have anything, then plant the wrong stuff or be hasty with what I want where to simply move it next season.

Looks like the garden may be a raised “bucket” garden this year. Too much prep needs to be done and I at least want a few customary items in the garden that will be fine in a 5 gallon bucket.

Have a nice evening everyone:)

@Dreamzchaser, that paper is called tar paper. I will be putting the tar paper on the roof of my add on in the next day or two as well. Your coop is looking good!

Today, I have to take my dog back to the vet to get tested for Addison's disease. Wow, have things changed in the 3 days since her check up on Friday. Before, no problems eating. Now she doesn't want her food. Before, no excessive thirst, now, it's drink-drink-drink. She was a bit lethargic before -- she's 11 -- now she doesn't want to do much at all. I would have chalked it up to the vaccines she got, but now I'm a bit worried.

Those are 3 symptoms of Addison's. There is treatment available, thank goodness. We'll do whatever we need to, as she's our baby.

I am really hoping there is no conflict with our trip to NC in a couple weeks. I can stay home with her, but this is a family trip to see family we haven't seen in two years.

Glad you're feeling better, John. I heard that Moderna has more side effects with it's second shot than the other.
I had a very productive day if that means spending time with friends and family. After lunch visited a former neighbor at his campsite. Wonderful catching up. Came home and went to my daughter's house for a cook out. It was a great day.

Thank you. I don't think it is because there is still so much to do so I can take the chicks out but is taking shape for I am thankful.
Sorry to hear about your pup. Maybe she became intolerant of the food? My Pixie used to eat anything Purina brand but became allergic to it which I am glad after all of the recalls. She gets ear infections and becomes lethargic as well. Of course she prefers homemade food but I limit that to maybe once a week. She used to like a cheap dog food from save-a-lot but now, since I am so far, she is getting from Family or General dollar that Cesar food and is doing lots better. I understand about being your baby. I love my chicks now but Pixie is the princess of the house and she comes before the chicks too. I will put you in prayers so they can find the problem and a solution. They might be animals but that is because they cannot think like us yet they are our most loyal companions.

First, have a good design.
Do you have any idea what you want to build?
Well I had that one design from before that I did. It was gonna be like a rectangle almost and then on the side had a second room for them to go outside into their pen when they weren't free ranging

You'll need something that will protect them well all winter....plenty of space with good roof overhangs for soffit ventilation in coop.....maybe even a roof on the run.
