Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Due to my age and income, I qualified for a county programme to improve the weatherization of my home. I got insulation upgrades, a humidity control fan, smoke detectors, and a window replacement. They checked my furnace and water heater. And I even got a new refrigerator. All was well.

Today in the early hours I lost power. So the electric water heater wasn't operational before I went to work. Even though power has been on all day I still don't have any hot water.
I hope it is only a circuit breaker. I'll check the fuses tomorrow morning. If that isn't the problem I'm not sure what it might be. I hope I can get it resolved tomorrow.

If it ain't one thing it's another. :he

That happens from time to time. Our Michigan thread tends to display a lot of familiarity while chatting. Some times it seems like we are enjoying an "inside" joke that doesn't always translate in a text format. Rest assured that we are really friendly and helpful. We welcome all poultry aficionados. Just jump into the conversation.
Thanks @RaZ always looking for friendly information were ever I can get it. No chickens here just several varieties of heritage turkeys.

Know what you mean about one thing or another. Just had to replace a elbo on one of my copper water pipes, just finished replacing and cleaning up water and drying out basement.

I just received 3 huge bags of wood shavings from my builders wood shop! Beautiful redwood. I’m thinking about throwing a bag into the run. It is much finer than the regular wood shaving from the farm store but im thinking it would be okay as long as it isnt cedar. Any thoughts?
Should be OK.
Smaller chips will break down faster, but redwood may last longer than pine or even hardwood.

Things don't last as long as they use to. We're waiting on our 2nd replacement ice maker in a fridge that's 3 1/2 years old. Of course, how things are right now, waiting awhile for the replacement. Luckily, we bought a portable ice maker to take while camping, so we are not without ice.
Sure got warm out! Worked in the garden yesterday morning before the sun hit that side of the house. Got half of the flower bed done. Weeding/mulching.
I had a chicken that limped, got better, limped on and off. And one day, she just couldn't walk anymore. She still can use her legs, but her toes curled. Dr. Fulton was at our Chickenstock as a guest that year. He said it wasn't Marek's, but something else. Forgot what he called it, but if you google it, you can get more info. She lived several years after that. She had her own coop inside our heated garage. I had a big bin for her to take her dust baths in. She had an enclosure under a shade tree so she can enjoy being outside and all her chicken friends would lay around the enclosure and visit. She still had a good life.

Have a good day, all

Yup! Or, if it ain't one thing, it's five!

She had a good life because she had a good person to care for her. :hugs
