PICS!!A little hard to explain
All of my hens here are mature, between 2 and 3 years old. Not one of them has shown any sign of going broody. With 2 active roosters I know that I've been getting fertile eggs. I've checked. It's a mixed barnyard flock but even so you would think that at least one hen would go broody. I think my chickens are defective.I got a couple broody hens again... this spring we had 8 chicks hatch and only 2 survived. I'm thinking about pulling the chicks except for a couple to leave with the hens. I lost a bunch of hens to a predator this summer. I have a trail cam up but wouldn't you know, it came the one day when the camera wasn't reset when I pulled the card.
Never thought of it and I ate them. Nothing wrong with me so far. oops!If you feed eggs laid during the withdrawal time back to your birds, you will extend the withdrawal period, as you will continue to give them medication in the eggs.
Happy Belated Anniversary, Rose!Mfranks, your birds have no run? You have them in the coop all the time??
Yea, the birds know to come back to roost for the night.
Had a fun day with family celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. How time flies!
You are an artist. I can never undo those pallets, no matter how hard I try, they always break, lol That is a beautiful table. Here's the first thing I made from that skid:

Tomorrow I want to make some kind of 3-sided enclosure to put around a feed/water station. I might make two of them so that there are more food places that can be out of direct line of site to help with the littles' integration.
I'm hoping the fence can come down later this week. I want to set up my plastic chair next to my new table, have a nice cup of coffee, and sit with my chickens.
Not that bad on this side of the woods. Today was a little storm. Things got knocked down and Hub, got trenched trying to get teh girls to go inside the coop. I was not here. Now that I think of it, it was better this way. I laugh every time I try to picture him trying and how pissed he must have been because he has no patience and is super, very super quick to anger. An early and dry cool down was much appreciated today. Ahhh!
Hope that happens the next 7 days too.
This heat just wrecks me...
....with no AC in the house I may have to resort to RespiteRides in the AC'd van.

Really warm you say? it is pipping hot. 91 degrees is like in hell for me. I can live fine when the temp is about 65. I am like a pig in a hole, (something like that)I saw it's going to be really warm
