Driving on a back road today, stopped for a small snake, alive but not moving well. Poor little thing looked okay (not HBC), but 'circling', not moving forward. Got it into a paper bag (all I had in the car) and drove to Cedar Creek Vet, where they treat reptiles. It was DOA, sadly, and a milk snake, first I've ever seen. Nobody there had ever seen one in the wild either!
More information tomorrow, i hope. may have eggs, they were going to look.

I saw a snake that MAY have been a Michigan rattlesnake a few days ago. It had the pattern, but I didn't stop to look for very long. I just said a loud "EEEEEK!" and it slithered away without a rattle. (shudders)

DH saw a snake on our road on his way home last night. He came and picked me up and we went to look at it. I believe someone ran her over, which exploded her eggs out of her back end. Poor thing. She may have been a Massassauga or possibly a Hog Nose.

Planted the head lettuce today. 8 more leaf lettuce to go. Why am I working so hard and I do not eat any of it? Do not answer me that. I don't want to know,lol


This weekend should find out if I am going to be a grandma. Littlyittybittybroody Lil mama is serious about this,lol

Littlyittybittybroody mama came out for a dust bath this morning,

We began working on the full separation. Hub made her a nest box the same size as she was in but with no division. Now she has a Suite,lol Will put some water and food early in the morning for her tomorrow before going to the ER in AA.



Pitbull and baby mama will have to spend the night "al fresco" tonight and Saturday will work on a more suitable quarters. Baby mama has her own nesting box. Tomorrow I have a medical appointment.



It was a lot of work in between so many things going on. The AC guy, the Garage door guy and still have to get the appliance guy in to check on my washer. My knee has been non-stop all day. However, after Saturday, I will not do so much. I need my beauty rest for ChickenStock, lol

BTW, Dr. Beasley, the reptile vet, said that he's been able to incubate and hatch out turtle eggs, at least from freshly roadkilled critters. Worth trying! Definitely need more information about this.

I'll admit to twice bringing the Belgian d'Uccle bantams who escaped and flew beautifully until captured. And I try to remember to bring my long handled fish net...
