When I got my Ford Edge AWD I took it into a snowy slick parking lot and tried hard to get it to spin out or skid. No dice.

That is GOING though - it doesn't help with STOPPING.

YES! We see vehicles off the road often, when drivers think they can do anything because of their AWD, or 4WD.

Dang, I know what Mr. Troyer said is right but now, I am second guessing my firetruck,lol it does have 4x4 if I push a button. Oh, well. Will be out today but praying hard that December 8th is clear to get to Ann Arbor to my next appointment in person. I cannot dodge that one. Have to use my chevy,lol Hubs dodge is not good to drive. Been sitting out there for a while. Waiting on 2k to have the arms and who knows what fixed. I just need to get winter tires on my firetruck

Back in the past some 4WD vehicles would engage only the left rear tire - effectively, 3 WD - unless they had locking differential, which would also engage the right rear tire.

Well, Wal-Mart does not carry winter tires, just like the do not carry avocados. They only carry the smallest avocados that no Hispanic people eat.
