Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

No, I need Widget. Knucklehead is out an about this morning, lol
She's not ready. Of all the girls, hers is the only comb that's still pale.

I had to put May into her own "room" on Saturday. She'd been getting picked on by Little (top hen), but things had settled down and all the plucked feathers on her head had grown back in.

Saturday, she was pecked bloody on the back of her head! So she's got about 1/4 of the coop's space to herself. Her head has scabbed over. She would like to get out, but I'm keeping her there for a few days, at least.

She is definitely the lowest hen; when they'd all come out in the morning, she'd squat and Little would run over and peck her. Then walk off. I don't know what got into Little to go so over the top on the pecking. :(

If this arrangement doesn't change the flock dynamics, I'll put Little in the "room." I'll get some Blu-Kote at TSC this week when I go into town.

Or does anyone suggest something different?

I would start with the same thing if I were dealing with that. I had a hen that was so bad picked on she was practically bald since at the time I had no way to seperate her or treat her. Now After months of separation and lone free ranging, she’s back to her normal self. 😊 she not only gained back all her plumage, but she got some of that spunky spirit back! This gal is confident again!
