Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

No need to roto-till the scorched area. Just throw the wildflower seeds on top of the scorched area. That is how nature does it.

I too have to remove ceramic tile. The bathroom had a leak behind the wall and rotted out part of the wall and floor. Is going to be a big tear out. I was hoping to get the kitchen re-done this spring. That is the last room of the house that needs new hardwood floors.

Today I'll get ready for the MAEAP tech who is coming tomorrow morning.

Wow, glad I'm not the only one that had fire issues yesterday. We were burning the garden down from last fall and it got a bit out of hand... and of course I wasn't smart enough to bring out the hose :( I managed to get the DW to bring buckets from the house to stop it before it got to the neighbors garage. Got the job done, just didn't expect the flare up... learned my lesson... will def be careful next time...

I think Alice the Australorp is getting louder as she matures. She's a year old and loud, loud, loud. I hope once the leaves grow back, we have some insulation. I really don't want them to bother the neighbors.

Crock pot. Stewed. Veggies and dumplings.
already in the roaster in oven.. will put him in there and maybe if he tenderizes early enough i will get the grill going and finish him off in there.. if he is to tough.. dumplings it is..
I dont even think his ladies care he is even gone..

It's going to be one of THOSE days I think. I woke up this morning and the temp in my bator was reading 108! I don't know how long it was running that hot but I have to assume all night (from shortly after i went to sleep at 12 until I got up at 6:30). I put some more details in this thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/764583/temp-spike-oh-nooo

I feel like I'm going to puke

Candy!!! Use to live in Delta Twp. Kids still all live in the Lansing area, so I'm in Lansing quite a bit. The Chickenstock picnic is at Delta Mills Park. Hope to see you there!!

Cloudy and windy...very windy here. Good day to stay in and pack up the nic nacs. Having hardwood floors installed in a couple of weeks. First, have to take out lots, and I mean lots of ceramic tile. Anyone in the neighborhood and is bored is welcome to come over and help us!
Enjoy your day.....

How fun! I can't wait to hear more about the picnic. DH and I are out near Williamston, but I work kitty corner from Horrocks

For people that know Horrocks, it is a place that drains my checkbook frequently...

Mine didn't seem to care. If anything they feel free. They started foraging in places they ought to be foraging but never did before with their rooster's strict schedule and limited number of places he would lead them. But at the same time, they are more careful about staying under bushes and trees. I assume they know they don't have him as protection anymore. They squat for my son now though, which is funny but a huge improvement to being flogged. After I served our chicken stew, my youngest boy confided that he was afraid to go outside because of the roo and was glad he was stew. He needed at least 12 hrs. in the crock pot. I checked him after 6 and he was still really tough. But he was also 12mos. old, all muscle. Tasty though.
